I think he just has Tom Hanks angst.

The Godfather and Godfather II are well done fims with top acting,directing,writing,etc.. I would never disagree with anyone picking it as their favs of all time.

Goodfellas is more human to me. Maybe because it was more closer to this generation. I think Ray Liota does a better acting job than anyone in any mob film. He really mastered that role. Not trying to take away from any other performences. Pesci and Brando's are legend.

Goonies Never Die!

I thought I was the only person who loved Goodfellas but doesn't like The Godfather. Don't know why but I can't stand The Godfather movies...they just come off cheesy and fake to me. Granted I never sat down to watch the movie all the way through, but the parts I have seen it just is blah. Goodfellas and Casino are on my top favorite list of gangsta movies.

Goodfellas is my favorite movie of all time. It should have won best picture not the departed.

After hearing about the Godfather films for so many years, you build up quite an expectation.

First time I saw it, I didn't quite get it.
I think the main reason is that it's so episodic - maybe the source book is extremely long, so of course they had to condense parts and jump ahead in time at various points. It's more a collection of great scenes put together.

So what I find is that, at least GF 1 and 2, the films just get better and better. I'm flipping through channels and catch a scene, and then I want to see the next scene, etc, etc.

I actually watched Goodfellas on TV not too long ago.
I really need to waatch it in non-TV censored widescreen glory though.

I actually know a guy that is mentioned in the book of Henry Hill's book. He is mentioned with a bunch of names during the restaraunt scene.

goodfellas is one of the best scorsese films ever and one of the best mafia films ever but if you think about it, your only getting one side of the story, Henry Hill's version. so yeah it's basically just him trying to justify himself the whole time. but regardless i still think it's one of my top ten movies ever.
